Veteran-owned first aid company ViTAC Solutions represents the convergence of military special operations expertise and emergency medical supply innovation. Founded by U.S. Army Green Berets with over 40 years of combined special operations experience and more than 25 combat deployments, ViTAC was created to bridge the gap between military-grade trauma care and civilian emergency preparedness.
Our mission is clear: enhance survival rates by providing field-tested, reliable emergency medical equipment that meets the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. Whether you're a tactical professional, first responder, outdoor enthusiast, or prepared civilian, ViTAC delivers the tools you need when seconds count.
This is the story of how ViTAC Solutions came to be, the values that drive our company, and our commitment to redefining emergency preparedness for the modern world.
ViTAC Solutions (VitalOps, LLC) officially launched in January 2024, but our story began over a cup of coffee between Justin McAllister and Valerie Lavin of Luminary Global.
Luminary Global, a veteran-owned and operated company based in St. Petersburg, Florida, has spent years supplying emergency products to first responders, safety professionals, and military organizations. Their deep industry knowledge and established supply chain expertise provided the perfect foundation for what would become ViTAC Solutions.
Valerie Lavin, founder of Action Zone—a veteran-exclusive entrepreneur support organization—connected with McAllister through the veteran business community. Their shared vision of making military-grade emergency medical supplies accessible to civilians sparked the idea that would become ViTAC.
Justin McAllister assembled a team of former U.S. Army Special Forces operators who brought unparalleled tactical medical expertise:
Together, this team represents over 25 combat deployments and more than 40 years in special operations. Their real-world experience in the most demanding environments on earth informs every product decision ViTAC makes.
Combining Luminary Global's supply chain expertise (led by COO Jeremy Lavin) with the Green Beret team's tactical medical knowledge created a formidable partnership. This unique collaboration ensures ViTAC products are both operationally sound and commercially viable—a rare combination in the emergency preparedness industry.
Our mission extends beyond simply selling first aid kits. We're committed to:
Democratizing Military-Grade Medical Care
Making the same life-saving equipment used by special operations forces accessible to civilians, law enforcement, and first responders.
Educating on the Golden Hour Principle
The Golden Hour concept—the critical first 60 minutes after traumatic injury when proper intervention dramatically improves survival—drives everything we do. Our products and educational content emphasize rapid, effective response.
Ensuring Quality Without Compromise
Every item in our kits is field-tested, rigorously evaluated, and purposefully selected. We don't include filler items—only equipment that serves a critical function.
Supporting the Veteran Community
As a veteran-owned company, we're committed to supporting fellow veterans through employment, partnerships, and community engagement.
Our values aren't marketing slogans—they're operational principles that guide every decision:
We believe preparedness isn't optional. Whether facing a tactical situation, wilderness emergency, or everyday accident, having the right equipment and knowledge can mean the difference between life and death. Our products ensure you're ready when it matters most.
Our team's combined military experience informs product development, kit configuration, and educational content. We don't guess what works—we know from experience in the world's most demanding environments.
Every product undergoes rigorous evaluation. We test equipment in realistic scenarios, evaluate durability under stress, and ensure each item meets our exacting standards. If it doesn't perform, it doesn't make it into our kits.
Different situations demand different solutions. We offer specialized kits for tactical operations, outdoor adventures, vehicle emergencies, and home preparedness—each tailored to specific needs and threat profiles.
We prioritize trustworthy interactions and genuine care for our community. Our customer service reflects the same values we lived by in the military: take care of your people, always.
We're honest about what our products can and cannot do. We provide clear guidance on proper use, limitations, and when to seek professional medical care. Ethics and transparency aren't negotiable.
The emergency preparedness market is crowded with options, but ViTAC stands apart through three key differentiators:
Our products aren't designed by marketers or assembled by algorithms. They're curated by operators who have used this equipment in combat zones, disaster areas, and austere environments where failure isn't an option.
Every kit configuration reflects lessons learned from real-world medical emergencies. We know what works because we've used it when lives were on the line.
Many first aid kits are packed with dozens of items you'll never use. ViTAC takes a different approach: we include only essential equipment, but we ensure each item is the highest quality available.
Our philosophy is simple: carry less, but carry better. Every ounce counts, and every item must earn its place in the kit.
We recognize that a tactical operator's needs differ from a family's camping trip requirements. Our product line includes:
Each kit is purpose-built for its intended use case, ensuring you have exactly what you need without unnecessary bulk.
The Golden Hour principle—the critical first 60 minutes after traumatic injury—is central to ViTAC's philosophy.
Research consistently shows that rapid intervention during this window dramatically improves survival rates for trauma patients. Our products are designed to enable effective response during these critical minutes:
We're also exploring applications of Golden Hour principles to non-life-threatening injuries, focusing on interventions that reduce healing time and minimize scarring.
While Luminary Global continues serving emergency professionals and organizations, ViTAC focuses on individual preparedness and civilian accessibility.
As Valerie Lavin emphasizes, having the right equipment and knowledge—such as proper tourniquet application—can prevent treatable injuries from becoming fatal. Our mission is to empower individuals with both the tools and training to respond effectively.
We believe emergency preparedness shouldn't be limited to professionals. Prepared civilians save lives every day, and we're committed to equipping them with professional-grade equipment.
Every ViTAC product reflects our core philosophy:
Our Green Beret team personally selects every item based on real-world performance, reliability, and effectiveness. We don't include products we wouldn't trust with our own lives.
Products undergo extensive testing in realistic scenarios before making it into our kits. We evaluate durability, ease of use under stress, and performance in adverse conditions.
We regularly review and update our kits based on new technologies, customer feedback, and evolving best practices in emergency medicine.
Quality emergency equipment should be accessible. We leverage our supply chain expertise to offer professional-grade products at fair prices. We also support the use of HSA and FSA funds for first aid kit purchases.
Since our soft launch in October 2023 and official launch in January 2024, we've been overwhelmed by the support from the veteran community, first responders, and prepared civilians nationwide.
Our vision for the future includes:
As Justin McAllister says, "We sincerely hope you never have to use our products, but if you do, know that the best put it together, and we stand on that."
This commitment drives everything we do. We're not just selling first aid kits—we're forging a new standard in emergency preparedness built on:
ViTAC Solutions is more than a company—it's a community of prepared individuals committed to being ready when it matters most.
