What Are Trauma Refill Packs?
Trauma refill packs are pre-built collections of trauma components packaged without the bag or pouch. They're the right call when you've used or expired the supplies in an existing trauma kit and want to restock without buying redundant packaging.
Refill packs typically include the high-rotation items — tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, pressure dressings, chest seals, gloves, gauze, and trauma shears — in proportions matching common kit configurations.

How to Choose a Refill Pack
1. Match Refill to Existing Kit
Verify the refill pack's component list matches what your kit needs. Some refills are designed for specific kit lines; others are generic.
2. Check Brand Compatibility
If your kit uses CAT® tourniquets and your refill pack provides a different brand, that's a meaningful change. Standardize on one brand for tourniquets across your kits.
3. Plan Rotation Cycles
Most trauma supplies have 3–5 year shelf lives. Set a rotation schedule, replace expired items annually, and use refill packs to make rotation efficient.
4. Don't Over-Refill
If your kit only used a few items, restock individually rather than buying a full refill. Refill packs make sense when multiple components need replacing.
