      Built for Real World Emergencies

      Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the MyFAK Mini different from a basic first aid kit?

It’s organized in a folding-page MOD layout so you can find and reach supplies fast, and it goes beyond cuts and scrapes — covering burns, blisters, sprains, OTC meds, and hydration. The Pro level adds true bleeding-control and airway tools.

What’s inside, and are the components authentic?

Yes — every trauma kit includes the same medical-grade supplies trusted by first responders, law enforcement, and military medics. From CAT® tourniquets to hemostatic gauze and HyFin® chest seals, our gear isn’t imitation-grade — it’s built for real emergencies, where performance matters most. The kit is built around name-brand components. The Pro level includes a genuine RATS® tourniquet and QuikClot® hemostatic gauze — not off-brand substitutes — plus an emergency pressure bandage, chest seals, and an NPA 28 airway pack.

Do I need training, and can I use HSA/FSA funds?

Basic first aid and Stop the Bleed-style training are strongly recommended, especially for the Pro’s tourniquet, hemostatic, and airway tools. Many customers use HSA/FSA funds toward first aid and trauma supplies; eligibility depends on your plan — use your HSA/FSA card at checkout and keep your receipt, and contact ViTAC for an itemized receipt if your plan requires one.

Do I need training to use trauma components (tourniquet, chest seal, hemostatics)?

      Yes—skills plus gear save time in times of crisis. We recommend Stop the Bleed/bleeding-control and basic first aid;

While basic trauma kits can be used effectively with minimal training, it’s highly recommended to complete a bleeding control and first aid course.

Why should I invest in a trauma kit instead of building my own?

Building your own kit is possible, but it’s often more expensive and time-consuming. Our trauma kits are curated by experts and built from experience, using components from industry-leading suppliers or built by U.S. based, trusted brands.

Each kit includes tested, field-proven gear, already organized for real-world use. You save time, eliminate guesswork, and gain peace of mind knowing your kit is mission-ready from day one.

How quickly can my trauma kit ship, and what’s the return policy?

We typically process each order within 1–2 business days, and all kits are backed by our quality guarantee. If your kit arrives damaged or incomplete, we’ll replace it immediately. We stand behind every product we sell because we know when it counts, your gear needs to perform flawlessly.

Can I customize a kit for my department or unit (bulk, POs, tax-exempt)?

Absolutely. We can adjust contents, packaging, and quantities; we support quotes/POs and department procurement. Use the RFQ link for fast scoping aligned to your SOPs and training, or click here.

The MyFAK™ Mini First Aid Kit — Compact Coverage, No Compromises

The MyFAK™ Mini is MyMedic's most compact first aid kit — the same folding-page layout, MOLLE construction, and modular MOD system as the full-size MyFAK, in a footprint that fits a commuter bag, glove box, or EDC pack. Available in Standard and Pro, it's built for people who want organized, field-ready coverage without the bulk.

Standard vs. Pro — Which Level Is Right for You?

Standard covers the full range of everyday first aid: wound care and bandaging, burn gel, blister care, sprain and finger-fracture support, OTC medications, topicals, hydration, and basic tools — roughly 64 organized supplies in an EDC-size kit.

Pro builds on the Standard loadout with point-of-injury trauma tools for trained users:

      • RATS® tourniquet
      • QuikClot® hemostatic gauze + compressed gauze roll
      • Emergency Pressure Bandage (4"×36")
      • Chest Seal twin pack (2 seals)
      • NPA 28 airway med pack
      • ZZIPS wound-closure devices (2-pack)
      • 25' paracord + 30-hour light stick

Choose Pro if you've completed Stop the Bleed or a hemorrhage-control course and want that capability in a kit small enough to carry every day.

      What You Get

      Standard (~64 supplies):

      • Wound care: SuperSkin bandage assortment, non-adherent pads, gauze, conforming roll
      • Wound closure: liquid skin, closure strips, blister strips
      • Burn care: burn gel packets (3.5 g × 3)
      • Sprain & fracture: Sensi wrap, finger splint
      • OTC medications: ibuprofen, APAP, aspirin, antihistamine, cold & flu, antidiarrheal, antacid
      • Topicals & hygiene: antiseptic wipes, hand sanitizer, triple antibiotic, hydrocortisone, sunscreen, lip balm, oral pain relief
      • Hydration & survival: KoKos hydration sticks, water-purification tablets, space blanket
      • Tools: penlight, tweezers, whistle, EMT shears, CPR shield, saline irrigation, nitrile gloves, surgical tape, Digital Stay Alive First Aid Guide

Pro adds: all trauma tools listed above.

Available in: Red, Black, Green, Coyote Tan — color does not affect contents.

How It Fits Into Your Setup

      1. Choose your level — Standard for everyday readiness; Pro if you're trained in bleeding control and airway management.
      2. Mount or stow it — MOLLE tear-away panel attaches to a bag, headrest, or gear wall. Pulls free in one motion.
      3. Open and find it fast — folding-page layout keeps supplies organized by category. No digging.
      4. Restock by MOD — when a category runs low, replace that MOD. The kit stays intact.
      5. Train with your tools — especially the Pro's tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, and NPA. Practice before you need them.

What It Is / What It Isn't

It is: a compact, organized first aid and trauma-preparedness kit for individuals who want reliable coverage in a small form factor — for daily carry, vehicles, trails, or as a secondary kit.

It isn't: a substitute for professional medical care, hands-on training, or a full trauma system for high-risk environments. The Pro kit's advanced tools are intended for users trained in their use.

      Objection Busters

"It's too small to be useful." The MyFAK Mini carries ~64 supplies in Standard — more than most full-size drugstore kits — organized so you can actually find what you need under stress.

"The Pro tools are overkill for me." If you haven't taken a bleeding-control course, Standard is the right choice. The Pro is specifically for trained users who want that capability in a compact kit.

"I can just buy a cheaper kit." Cheaper kits typically use low-quality supplies, poor organization, and no restocking path. The MOD system means this kit stays useful long-term — you restock categories, not the whole thing.

"I don't know if my HSA/FSA covers this." Many customers apply HSA/FSA funds to first aid and trauma supplies. Eligibility depends on your plan — use your card at checkout and contact ViTAC for an itemized receipt if your plan requires one.

"I'm not sure which color to pick." Red is easiest to spot in a dark bag. Coyote and green blend into outdoor or tactical setups. Black is low-profile. All colors ship with identical contents.

      Add to Cart

Pick your level, pick your color, and add the MyFAK™ Mini to your cart. If you want more coverage for home, vehicle, or team use, pair it with the full-size MyFAK™ First Aid Kit for layered preparedness.

      FAQs

What makes the MyFAK Mini different from a standard first aid kit? It uses a folding-page MOD layout so supplies are organized by category and reachable without emptying the kit. Coverage goes well beyond cuts — burns, blisters, sprains, OTC meds, hydration, and (in Pro) full bleeding-control and airway tools.

What's the difference between Standard and Pro? Standard covers everyday first aid with ~64 supplies. Pro includes everything in Standard plus a RATS® tourniquet, QuikClot® hemostatic gauze, emergency pressure bandage, chest-seal twin pack, NPA airway med pack, ZZIPS wound-closure devices, paracord, and a light stick. Choose Pro only if you're trained in the use of those tools.

Do I need training to use this kit? Basic first aid knowledge is recommended for any kit. The Pro's tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, and NPA are specifically intended for users who have completed Stop the Bleed or equivalent training. Free courses are available at stopthebleed.org.

Can I restock individual supplies? Yes. MyMedic sells Mini MOD refills separately. When a category runs low, you replace that MOD — not the whole kit.

Is this kit HSA/FSA eligible? Many customers use HSA/FSA funds for first aid and trauma supplies. Eligibility depends on your specific plan. Use your HSA/FSA card at checkout and contact ViTAC for an itemized receipt if your plan requires documentation.

How does the MOLLE attachment work? The outer shell has a Hypalon MOLLE panel with a tear-away attachment. It mounts to any MOLLE-compatible surface — bag, headrest, gear wall — and pulls free in one motion when you need it.

Which color should I choose? Red is easiest to locate in a dark bag or under stress. Coyote Tan and Green suit outdoor or tactical setups. Black is low-profile for everyday carry. Color does not affect kit contents or level.

Is this kit right for me if I have no medical training? Standard is a solid choice for anyone who wants organized, practical first aid coverage. If you have no bleeding-control training, choose Standard and consider taking a Stop the Bleed course — it's free, takes about 2 hours, and makes any kit more effective.
