      Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a basic first aid kit?

This is a bleeding control kit, not a boo-boo kit. It’s purpose-built to address life-threatening hemorrhage with a C-A-T® tourniquet, NAR® ETD, and wound packing gauze — tools that basic kits don’t include.

What's inside and are the components authentic?

Yes — every trauma kit includes the same medical-grade supplies trusted by first responders, law enforcement, and military medics. From CAT® tourniquets to hemostatic gauze and HyFin® chest seals, our gear isn’t imitation-grade — it’s built for real emergencies, where performance matters most. The kit includes 1x C-A-T® tourniquet, 1x NAR® 6-inch Responder ETD, 2x NAR® Wound Packing Gauze, gloves, trauma shears, a survival blanket, and just-in-time pictorial instructions. All components are authentic, sourced from North American Rescue.

Do I need training to use it, and is it HSA/FSA eligible?

Stop the Bleed training is strongly recommended. The kit includes pictorial just-in-time instructions for untrained bystanders. HSA/FSA eligibility is pending verification — confirm before publishing.

Do I need training to use trauma components (tourniquet, chest seal, hemostatics)?

      Yes—skills plus gear save time in times of crisis. We recommend Stop the Bleed/bleeding-control and basic first aid;

While basic trauma kits can be used effectively with minimal training, it’s highly recommended to complete a bleeding control and first aid course.

Why should I invest in a trauma kit instead of building my own?

Building your own kit is possible, but it’s often more expensive and time-consuming. Our trauma kits are curated by experts and built from experience, using components from industry-leading suppliers or built by U.S. based, trusted brands.

Each kit includes tested, field-proven gear, already organized for real-world use. You save time, eliminate guesswork, and gain peace of mind knowing your kit is mission-ready from day one.

How quickly can my trauma kit ship, and what’s the return policy?

We typically process each order within 1–2 business days, and all kits are backed by our quality guarantee. If your kit arrives damaged or incomplete, we’ll replace it immediately. We stand behind every product we sell because we know when it counts, your gear needs to perform flawlessly.

Can I customize a kit for my department or unit (bulk, POs, tax-exempt)?

Absolutely. We can adjust contents, packaging, and quantities; we support quotes/POs and department procurement. Use the RFQ link for fast scoping aligned to your SOPs and training, or click here.

NAR Individual Bleeding Control Kit — Public-Access IFAK

The NAR Individual Bleeding Control Kit is a purpose-built bleeding control system designed to put proven, easy-to-use trauma tools in the hands of everyday responders. Engineered by North American Rescue — the company behind the military’s standard-issue C-A-T® tourniquet — this kit is built for one job: stopping life-threatening bleeding before EMS arrives.

What It Is / What It Isn’t

This is a bleeding control kit, not a general first aid kit. It won’t treat headaches, blisters, or minor cuts. It will give you the tools to manage a traumatic hemorrhage — the kind caused by a car accident, a power tool injury, or a public mass casualty event.

      Why the NAR IBCK

North American Rescue developed this kit specifically for public access — meaning it’s designed for people without formal medical training. The just-in-time pictorial instruction card walks any bystander through the critical steps of limb tourniquet application, wound packing, and pressure dressing placement. Every component is authentic: the C-A-T® tourniquet is the same tourniquet issued to U.S. military personnel.

The compact red nylon bag fits anywhere: a glove box, a desk drawer, a range bag, or a wall-mounted bracket at a workplace or school.

      What You Get

      • 1x C-A-T® Tourniquet
      • 1x NAR® 6-in Responder ETD
      • 2x NAR® Wound Packing Gauze
      • 2 pairs Responder Nitrile Gloves (Large)
      • 1x Responder Trauma Shears (7.25 in)
      • 1x Permanent Marker
      • 1x NAR® Emergency Survival Blanket (56" x 96")
      • 1x Just in Time Instruction Card
      • 1x PVC Bleeding Control Patch
      • 1x Red Nylon Bag

      How to Use It

      1. Access: Open the red nylon bag and retrieve the instruction card.
      2. Assess: Identify the source and severity of bleeding.
      3. Apply tourniquet (limb bleeds): Place 2–3 inches above the wound, tighten the windlass until bleeding stops, note the time.
      4. Pack and pressure (junctional/trunk bleeds): Use wound packing gauze with direct pressure; secure with the ETD.
      5. Stabilize and wait: Keep pressure applied; do not remove packing. Call 911 and relay tourniquet time to EMS.

      Who It’s For

Built for anyone who wants to be capable in an emergency — no medical background required. Ideal for civilians, workplaces, schools, vehicles, hunters, and anyone completing Stop the Bleed training.

Ready to be the responder your family, team, or community needs? Add the NAR Individual Bleeding Control Kit to your cart today — and pair it with a Stop the Bleed class to make the most of every component inside.
