1. Confirm Training Match
NPAs require formal training. Stop the Bleed® alone doesn't cover NPA insertion. TCCC, TECC, EMT, and paramedic courses do.
2. Verify Lubricant
NPAs need water-based lubricant for insertion. Quality kits include single-use lubricant packets; verify before deploying.
3. Check Full Trauma Capability
NPA-equipped kits typically also include tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, chest seals, and pressure dressings — a complete trauma loadout. Confirm the rest of the kit matches your needs.
