What Is a Bleed-Stop Trauma Kit?
A bleed-stop trauma kit is a medical loadout designed for one job: controlling severe bleeding before EMS arrives. Unlike general first aid kits built for cuts, sprains, and minor wounds, bleed-stop kits prioritize the tools that address massive hemorrhage — the injury most likely to cost a life in the field if not treated within minutes.
Each kit in this collection is curated by a veteran-owned team and built around proven components: windlass tourniquets that fully occlude arterial flow, hemostatic gauze that accelerates clotting in deep or junctional wounds, pressure dressings that maintain controlled compression, and chest seals for penetrating thoracic trauma. How to Choose the Right Bleed-Stop Kit
1. Environment & Carry Method
Vehicle kits mount to headrests or center consoles for instant access. Backcountry and duty kits are MOLLE-compatible or rip-away. EDC kits fit on belts, in glove boxes, or in cargo pockets. Marine kits use waterproof hard cases.
2. Number of Patients
Solo IFAKs treat one person; multi-casualty systems include redundant tourniquets, additional hemostatic gauze, and supplies sized for 4+ casualties.
3. Training Level
Basic kits include tourniquet + pressure dressing — skills covered in a 90-minute Stop the Bleed® course. Intermediate kits add hemostatic gauze and chest seals. Advanced kits include airway adjuncts and decompression tools and are best paired with TCCC-level training.
4. Component Quality
Look for proven name brands: CAT® Gen 7 or SOFTT-W tourniquets, QuikClot® or Combat Gauze hemostatics, HyFin® or Bolin chest seals. Avoid unproven substitutes — reliability matters when seconds count.
5. Refill vs. Complete System
